Ritual Baths
Happy Valentine’s Day Collective! How about offering yourself some love this Valentine’s Day? Consider what it might mean to romance yourself today. Ritual baths have become an important part of my life lately. They feel healing and luxurious. What makes a ritual bath different than a regular bath is your intention. Taking time to think about what would really feel good and healing, making deliberate choices, then creating your bath with intention will help set the tone for your experience. Here are some ideas for creating a sacred, ritual bath for yourself. I promise it will leave you feeling cared for and loved! Pick and choose from the following ingredients to personalize your bathing experience:
- 5-10 drops of skin-friendly essential oils diluted in a teaspoon of vegetable oil of any kind (Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Frankincense, Patchouli, or Sandalwood are all beautiful choices)
- a can of coconut milk
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1-3 cups apple cider vinegar
- 1-3 cups baking soda
- 1-3 cups Epsom salt
- 1 cup Himalayan pink salt
- a handful of oats, dried flower petals, or herbal tea in cheesecloth or a sachet
- a *few* flower petals sprinkled in can be pretty but fair warning–they will stick to you when you get out so don’t overdo it! 🙂
Now think about what you might like to add to the experience:
- music
- chocolate
- a glass of wine
- herbal tea
- some flowers, crystals, or candles
Sink into the bathing experience you’ve created for yourself and think about all the ways you are lovable!
